A split unit air conditioner is a type of air conditioning system that consists of two main components:
- Indoor Unit: This is the part of the system that is installed inside the room. It contains the evaporator coil, which absorbs heat from the air and cools the room. This unit also blows out cool air into the space.
- Outdoor Unit: This is placed outside the building. It houses the compressor, condenser coil, and fan. The outdoor unit works by expelling the heat absorbed by the indoor unit.
